About Alkite-B6 Tablet

Alkite-B6 Tablet is the solid-dosage equivalent of Trumac’s flagship anti-lithiasis range, containing Potassium Magnesium Citrate 978 mg, Magnesium Citrate 263.10 mg and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) 15 mg per tablet. It is designed for long-term prophylaxis of recurrent kidney stones in patients who prefer or require a tablet over the syrup format.

The combination raises urinary citrate, alkalinises urine, supplies magnesium (an independent inhibitor of calcium oxalate crystallisation), and adds pyridoxine to lower urinary oxalate excretion in idiopathic hyperoxaluria. Together these mechanisms reduce the supersaturation and aggregation steps that lead to stone formation.

Alkite-B6 Tablet is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP conditions and is available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing. A high-margin nephrology/urology SKU suited to general physicians and specialists.

Indications

  • Prevention of recurrent calcium oxalate kidney stones
  • Uric acid nephrolithiasis and gouty diathesis
  • Post-ESWL and post-PCNL adjuvant therapy
  • Renal tubular acidosis with hypocitraturia
  • Hyperoxaluria-associated stone disease

Mechanism of Action

Potassium-magnesium citrate releases citrate that raises urinary pH and binds free calcium, blocking calcium-oxalate and calcium-phosphate crystal nucleation. Magnesium independently inhibits calcium-oxalate crystallisation in tubular fluid. Pyridoxine serves as a cofactor for alanine glyoxylate aminotransferase, lowering urinary oxalate production.

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1 tablet two to three times daily after meals, with a glass of water; long-term therapy as advised by urologist or nephrologist. Maintain fluid intake >2 L/day.
