About Alfuzest-10 PR Tablet

Alfuzest-10 PR Tablet contains Alfuzosin Hydrochloride 10 mg in a once-daily prolonged-release matrix. Alfuzosin is a uroselective alpha-1 adrenergic antagonist used to treat the lower-urinary-tract symptoms (LUTS) of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — urinary hesitancy, weak stream, urgency, frequency and nocturia.

Because Alfuzosin preferentially blocks alpha-1A and alpha-1D receptors concentrated in the prostate, bladder neck and prostatic urethra, it relaxes urinary tract smooth muscle and improves urine flow without significant first-dose hypotension or systemic vasodilation seen with non-selective alpha-blockers.
