About Telimike-40 AM Tablet
Telimike-40 AM Tablet combines Telmisartan 40 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg — preferred ARB + CCB combination for hypertension inadequately controlled on monotherapy. Synergistic BP reduction with reduced peripheral oedema.

Mechanism of Action
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) with longest half-life (~24 hours) among ARBs — selectively blocks AT1 receptors causing vasodilation. Also activates PPAR-gamma providing metabolic benefits beyond BP lowering. Amlodipine is dihydropyridine CCB causing peripheral vasodilation.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 tablet once daily.
Side Effects
Dizziness, hyperkalaemia, increased creatinine, angioedema (rare), dyslipidaemia. Peripheral oedema (Amlodipine — reduced when combined with ARB).
Contraindications & Precautions
Pregnancy (teratogenic), bilateral renal artery stenosis, severe hepatic impairment, hyperkalaemia.
