About Cildir-10 Tablet

Cildir-10 Tablet contains Cilnidipine 10 mg — a unique dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits both L-type and N-type calcium channels. The N-type calcium channel inhibition (in sympathetic nerve terminals) provides additional sympathetic suppression and reduction in reflex tachycardia compared with classical L-type-only CCBs like amlodipine.

This dual mechanism translates into clinical advantages: less peripheral oedema, reduced reflex tachycardia, improved renal protection (particularly in diabetic nephropathy with proteinuria), and better suppression of sympathetic overactivity. Cilnidipine is particularly suited to hypertensive patients with diabetes, CKD or those experiencing palpitations on amlodipine.

Cildir-10 is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP conditions. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing — a specialty cardiology SKU.

Indications

  • Essential hypertension
  • Hypertension with diabetes mellitus
  • Hypertension with chronic kidney disease and proteinuria
  • Hypertension with sympathetic overactivity
  • Patients with oedema or tachycardia on amlodipine

Mechanism of Action

Cilnidipine blocks both L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle (producing vasodilation) and N-type calcium channels in sympathetic nerve terminals (reducing noradrenaline release). The dual blockade produces blood pressure reduction with less reflex tachycardia and reduced renal afferent arteriolar resistance — beneficial in diabetic nephropathy.

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 5–10 mg once daily, taken at the same time each day. Titrate based on response. Maximum 20 mg/day.

Side Effects

Contraindications & Precautions
