About Camdiclox-LB Capsule

Camdiclox-LB Capsule combines Amoxicillin 250 mg with Cloxacillin 250 mg and Lactobacillus 2 Billion spores. The combination provides broad-spectrum activity against both penicillinase-producing (typically staphylococci) and non-producing bacteria, with concurrent probiotic protection against antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.

Cloxacillin is a beta-lactamase-resistant penicillin specifically active against penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA). Adding Cloxacillin to Amoxicillin extends antibacterial coverage to staphylococcal infections that would otherwise destroy Amoxicillin’s beta-lactam ring. The combination is widely used for skin/soft-tissue infections, surgical site infections and ENT infections where mixed flora is likely.

Camdiclox-LB is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP conditions. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.

Indications

  • Skin and soft-tissue infections (cellulitis, impetigo, boils)
  • Surgical site infections and post-operative prophylaxis
  • ENT infections with mixed flora
  • Dental infections with staphylococcal component
  • Bone and joint infections (adjunct)
  • Mastitis

Mechanism of Action

Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis by binding penicillin-binding proteins. Cloxacillin's bulky isoxazolyl side-chain sterically prevents penicillinase-mediated hydrolysis, retaining activity against MSSA. Lactobacillus competes with pathogenic gut flora and reduces antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1 capsule three times daily for 5–7 days; longer for severe infections. Take 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Camdiclox-LB Capsule used for?

Camdiclox-LB combines Amoxicillin, Cloxacillin and Lactobacillus for skin, soft-tissue, surgical, ENT and dental infections — particularly where penicillinase-producing staphylococci are suspected.

Why combine Amoxicillin with Cloxacillin?

Cloxacillin is beta-lactamase-resistant and active against penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus. Combining it with Amoxicillin extends coverage to staphylococcal infections that would otherwise inactivate Amoxicillin.

Is Camdiclox-LB available for PCD pharma franchise?

Yes, on monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.

How should Camdiclox-LB be stored?

Store below 30 °C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.

Is Camdiclox-LB WHO-GMP certified?
