About Camicold-Total Advance Tablet
Camicold-Total Advance Tablet provides comprehensive cough-cold therapy with Ambroxol 60 mg, Guaifenesin 50 mg and Phenylephrine 5 mg. The combination addresses mucus production (Ambroxol mucolytic), expectoration (Guaifenesin) and nasal congestion (Phenylephrine) — particularly useful in productive cough associated with cold or URI.
Ambroxol is the active metabolite of bromhexine with superior mucolytic action and added pulmonary surfactant-stimulating effect. Guaifenesin enhances mucus clearance through reduced viscosity. Phenylephrine addresses the upper airway congestion typical of URI-associated productive cough. The combination provides comprehensive symptomatic relief in a single tablet.
Camicold-Total Advance is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP conditions. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.
Indications
- Productive cough with nasal congestion
- Acute bronchitis with congestion
- Cough associated with cold or flu
- Sinusitis with productive cough
- Post-URI persistent productive cough
Mechanism of Action
Ambroxol breaks down acid mucopolysaccharide fibres in mucus and stimulates surfactant production by alveolar type-II cells. Guaifenesin increases respiratory tract fluid volume, reducing mucus viscosity. Phenylephrine vasoconstricts nasal mucosa via alpha-1 adrenergic activation.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 tablet three times daily for 5–7 days. Take with plenty of fluids to enhance expectoration.
Side Effects
Nausea, GI upset, dry mouth, palpitations, insomnia (Phenylephrine). Rare hypersensitivity reactions.
