About Tolvact-15 Tablet
Tolvact-15 Tablet contains Tolvaptan 15 mg, a selective vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist. It produces aquaresis — water excretion without sodium loss — making it uniquely useful in dilutional hyponatraemia.
Indicated for euvolaemic and hypervolaemic hyponatraemia (SIADH, cirrhotic ascites, heart failure) and autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) — TEMPO 3:4 trial.

Indications
- Euvolaemic hyponatraemia (SIADH)

Mechanism of Action
Tolvaptan selectively blocks V2 vasopressin receptors in renal collecting ducts, preventing insertion of aquaporin-2 water channels. This produces selective water excretion (aquaresis) without sodium loss — correcting dilutional hyponatraemia. In ADPKD it reduces cyst growth via reduced cAMP.
