About Trutam-Plus Tab-in-Cap
Trutam-Plus is a novel tablet-in-capsule technology delivering Tamsulosin HCl 0.4 mg (modified-release tablet) along with Deflazacort 30 mg inside a single capsule shell. The combination supports medical expulsive therapy of lower-ureteric stones with inflammatory oedema.
Tamsulosin relaxes the smooth muscle of the distal ureter, bladder neck and prostatic urethra; Deflazacort, an oxazoline derivative of prednisolone, reduces local ureteric inflammatory oedema that obstructs stone passage.

Indications
- Medical expulsive therapy for lower-ureteric stones (5–10 mm) with mucosal oedema

Mechanism of Action
Tamsulosin selectively blocks alpha-1A adrenoceptors which dominate in the prostate, bladder neck and distal ureter — relaxing smooth muscle and easing voiding. Deflazacort is a glucocorticoid prodrug converted to its active 21-OH metabolite; it suppresses phospholipase A2, reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene production and shrinking oedema around the impacted stone — improving stone passage rates in MET.
