About Prasuron-10 Tablet
Prasuron-10 Tablet contains Prasugrel 10 mg, a third-generation thienopyridine P2Y12 receptor antagonist with faster onset and more consistent platelet inhibition than clopidogrel.
Indicated for prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing primary or delayed PCI — given with aspirin (TRITON-TIMI 38 trial).

Mechanism of Action
Prasugrel is metabolised to its active thiol metabolite which irreversibly binds the P2Y12 ADP receptor on platelets, blocking ADP-mediated platelet activation. More efficient hepatic activation than clopidogrel gives faster, stronger, more consistent inhibition (less inter-patient variability).
