About Trudine-AM Ointment
Trudine-AM Ointment combines the broad-spectrum antiseptic Povidone Iodine 5% with the anti-anaerobic Metronidazole 1%. The combination is particularly effective in malodorous chronic wounds where anaerobic bacterial overgrowth is suspected.
Indicated for diabetic foot ulcers, malodorous chronic wounds, infected pressure sores and post-operative wound care.

Mechanism of Action
Povidone Iodine slowly releases free iodine, which oxidises microbial cell-wall components — killing bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa. Broad-spectrum, minimal resistance. Metronidazole penetrates anaerobic organisms where its nitro group is reduced to cytotoxic intermediates, destroying Bacteroides and Clostridium species responsible for wound malodour.
