About Trudine-AM Ointment
Trudine-AM is a triple-action wound-care ointment combining Povidone Iodine 5% as a broad-spectrum antiseptic, Metronidazole 1% targeting anaerobic infection and Aloe Vera 1.5% as a soothing emollient that supports re-epithelialisation.
The combination is particularly useful in diabetic foot ulcers, chronic non-healing wounds, post-surgical wounds and infected burns where a polymicrobial bioburden including anaerobes is suspected.

Mechanism of Action
Povidone Iodine releases free iodine which oxidises microbial cell wall components, killing bacteria, fungi, viruses and spores. Metronidazole penetrates anaerobic organisms where its nitro group is reduced to cytotoxic intermediates, destroying Bacteroides and Clostridium species responsible for wound malodour. Aloe Vera provides polysaccharides and glycoproteins that hydrate the wound bed, reduce inflammation and accelerate epithelial migration.
