About Tropirut-P Eye Drops
Tropirut-P Eye Drops combines Phenylephrine 5% (alpha-1 sympathomimetic mydriatic) with Tropicamide 0.8% (antimuscarinic cycloplegic). The combination produces rapid, strong pupil dilation for diagnostic and therapeutic ophthalmic use.
Indicated for diagnostic ophthalmoscopy and fundoscopy, cycloplegic refraction in children, pre-operative pupil dilation and breaking pupillary synechiae in iritis.

Mechanism of Action
Phenylephrine stimulates alpha-1 adrenergic receptors on the iris dilator muscle, causing mydriasis without cycloplegia. Tropicamide blocks muscarinic receptors on the iris sphincter and ciliary muscle, producing both mydriasis and cycloplegia (loss of accommodation). Onset 15–30 min, lasts 4–6 hours.
