About Parowise-12.5 Tablet

Mechanism of Action
Paroxetine is an SSRI antidepressant — selectively inhibits presynaptic serotonin reuptake (SERT). Also has mild anticholinergic and noradrenergic reuptake inhibition. Effective in depression, anxiety disorders, PMDD, OCD, PTSD. Highest discontinuation symptoms among SSRIs due to short half-life and active metabolites.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 12.5 mg once daily in morning, titrate up.
Side Effects
Nausea, sexual dysfunction (most common SSRI), weight gain, discontinuation syndrome (significant), drowsiness, dry mouth (anticholinergic).

MAO inhibitor use (within 14 days), pregnancy (cardiac malformations — Category D), thioridazine, severe hepatic impairment.
