About Midocron-5 Tablet
Midocron-5 Tablet contains Midodrine 5 mg, a prodrug of desglymidodrine — a selective alpha-1 adrenergic agonist. It is the FDA-approved oral agent for symptomatic orthostatic hypotension.
Indicated for symptomatic neurogenic orthostatic hypotension, autonomic failure (pure autonomic failure, multiple system atrophy, Parkinson’s disease autonomic dysfunction), and dialysis-induced hypotension.

Mechanism of Action
Midodrine is a prodrug rapidly converted to its active metabolite desglymidodrine, a selective alpha-1 adrenergic agonist. Activation of vascular alpha-1 receptors produces arteriolar and venous vasoconstriction, raising peripheral resistance and central venous return — thus increasing BP.
Dosage & Administration
['Adults: 2.5–10 mg three times daily', 'Take during daytime only (last dose by late afternoon)', 'Never take within 4 hours of bedtime (supine hypertension risk)', 'Monitor supine and seated BP']
