About Macral-200 Tablet
Macral-200 Tablet contains Ketoconazole 200 mg — oral antifungal for systemic mycoses, severe dermatophytosis, and Cushing’s syndrome (off-label, blocking steroidogenesis). Oral ketoconazole use has been restricted due to hepatotoxicity — typically reserved for refractory cases.

Mechanism of Action
Ketoconazole inhibits fungal lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase (CYP51) — blocking ergosterol synthesis. Also inhibits human CYP enzymes including CYP3A4 (drug interactions) and CYP17 (suppressing adrenal/gonadal steroidogenesis at high doses).
Dosage & Administration
