About Ivabrax-5 Tablet
Ivabrax-5 Tablet contains Ivabradine 5 mg, a pure heart-rate-lowering agent that selectively inhibits the If (funny) current in sinoatrial node pacemaker cells. Unlike beta-blockers, it slows heart rate without affecting myocardial contractility, blood pressure or AV conduction.
It is indicated in chronic stable angina with HR > 70 bpm despite or in addition to beta-blockers, and in chronic heart failure (NYHA II–IV) with HR > 75 bpm on optimal therapy (SHIFT trial — mortality benefit).

Indications
- Chronic stable angina with HR > 70 bpm

Mechanism of Action
Ivabradine selectively and reversibly inhibits the If (funny) current — a mixed Na+/K+ inward current activated by hyperpolarisation in pacemaker cells of the sinoatrial node. By slowing diastolic depolarisation in SA-node cells, it reduces heart rate without affecting contractility, BP, AV conduction or refractoriness.
