About Itrabin Cream
Itrabin Cream combines the triazole Itraconazole 1% with the allylamine Terbinafine 1% in a single topical preparation. The two classes act on different steps of fungal ergosterol biosynthesis, producing additive activity against recalcitrant dermatophyte infections.
It is indicated for recalcitrant tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis and pityriasis versicolor — particularly cases that have failed monotherapy with topical azoles or allylamines.

Mechanism of Action
Itraconazole inhibits fungal 14-α-demethylase, blocking conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. Terbinafine inhibits squalene epoxidase (earlier in the pathway), causing intracellular squalene accumulation which is directly fungicidal. The dual blockade at two enzymatic steps provides additive and synergistic activity.
