About Phytocan-100 Capsule

Mechanism of Action
Itraconazole is a triazole antifungal — inhibits fungal lanosterol 14-α-demethylase blocking ergosterol synthesis. Active against dermatophytes, Candida, Aspergillus, dimorphic fungi (Histoplasma, Blastomyces, Sporothrix), and Pneumocystis.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 100–200 mg once or twice daily with food.
Side Effects
GI upset, headache, transaminase elevation (monitor LFTs with long-term), peripheral oedema, drug interactions (CYP3A4 substrate), congestive heart failure (caution).
Contraindications & Precautions
Heart failure (history), severe hepatic impairment, pregnancy, on simvastatin/lovastatin (myopathy risk), QT-prolonging drugs.
