About Ruzin / Ataroz Drops

Mechanism of Action
Hydroxyzine is a first-generation H1 antihistamine with significant CNS penetration — antagonises histamine and has sedative, anxiolytic, antiemetic, and antipruritic effects. Used for anxiety, pruritus, urticaria, motion sickness, and pre-anaesthetic sedation.
Dosage & Administration
Children: 2 mg/kg/day in 3–4 divided doses.
Side Effects
Drowsiness (very common), dry mouth, dizziness, anticholinergic effects, QT prolongation, paradoxical excitation in children. Paradoxical excitation in children.
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity, prolonged QT, on QT-prolonging drugs, severe hepatic impairment, pregnancy (first trimester), narrow-angle glaucoma.
