About Hepaflux-25000 Injection
Hepaflux-25000 Injection provides Unfractionated Heparin 25,000 IU — the classic intravenous/subcutaneous anticoagulant for acute thromboprophylaxis and treatment of deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and acute coronary syndrome.
UFH advantages over LMWH: rapid reversibility with protamine, monitored by aPTT, suitable in renal failure. UFH disadvantages: requires IV infusion with frequent aPTT monitoring, higher HIT risk than LMWH.

Mechanism of Action
Heparin binds antithrombin III causing a conformational change that accelerates its inhibition of Factor IIa (thrombin) and Factor Xa by ~1000-fold. Reversible action — short half-life (1–2 hours).
Dosage & Administration
Loading dose: 80 IU/kg IV bolus then continuous infusion 18 IU/kg/hour. Adjust based on aPTT target 1.5–2.5x control.
Side Effects
Bleeding, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), osteoporosis with prolonged use, transaminase elevation.
Contraindications & Precautions
Active bleeding, severe thrombocytopenia, history of HIT, severe uncontrolled hypertension, recent intracranial haemorrhage.
