About Grisocam-500 Tablet
Grisocam-500 Tablet contains Griseofulvin 500 mg, an oral systemic antifungal derived from Penicillium griseofulvum. It is selectively concentrated in keratinised tissues (hair, nails, skin) and is the established treatment of choice for tinea capitis.
It is indicated for tinea capitis (paediatric and adult), extensive or recalcitrant tinea corporis, and dermatophyte infections that fail topical therapy.

- Tinea capitis

Mechanism of Action
Griseofulvin binds tubulin and disrupts the mitotic spindle of dividing fungal cells, halting fungal mitosis. It is preferentially deposited in keratin precursor cells, making newly-formed keratin resistant to fungal invasion. Mature infected keratin gradually sheds and is replaced by drug-impregnated keratin.
