About Budemide-F Respules

Budemide-F Respules combine the long-acting beta-2 agonist Formoterol 20 mcg with the inhaled corticosteroid Budesonide in a single 2 ml nebuliser respule. It is used for the maintenance therapy of moderate-to-severe persistent asthma and COPD in adults — where combined ICS + LABA therapy provides better symptom control than either component alone.

Formoterol is a fast-onset (within 1–3 minutes) and long-duration (12-hour) beta-2 agonist that produces sustained bronchodilation. Budesonide simultaneously suppresses airway inflammation that drives bronchial hyperreactivity. The combination is supported by GINA guidelines as step-up therapy from ICS monotherapy in moderate asthma.

Budemide-F is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP conditions. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing — a high-value respiratory SKU.

Indications

  • Maintenance therapy of moderate-to-severe persistent asthma
  • COPD with frequent exacerbations
  • Asthma inadequately controlled on ICS monotherapy
  • Step-up therapy when short-acting bronchodilator use is frequent

Mechanism of Action

Formoterol selectively activates β2-adrenergic receptors on airway smooth muscle, raising cAMP and producing sustained bronchodilation lasting 12 hours. Budesonide binds glucocorticoid receptors in airway tissue, suppressing pro-inflammatory gene transcription and reducing airway hyperreactivity. The combination targets both bronchospasm and underlying inflammation.

Dosage & Administration
