About Tynar-10 Tablet
Tynar-10 Tablet contains Flunarizine HCl 10 mg, a selective calcium-channel blocker used in the long-term prophylaxis of migraine, vestibular vertigo and certain cerebrovascular disorders. Unlike acute analgesics, Flunarizine is taken daily to reduce attack frequency.
It is indicated in patients with frequent or severe migraine, recurrent vertigo (including Ménière’s disease), tinnitus of vascular origin and as supportive therapy in peripheral and cerebral vascular insufficiency.

Mechanism of Action
Flunarizine is a selective calcium-channel blocker preferentially active at T-type channels in cerebral neurons and vestibular hair cells. By preventing intracellular calcium overload during ischaemic or excitotoxic events, it reduces cortical spreading depression (the proposed substrate of migraine aura) and stabilises vestibular nuclei activity. It also blocks histamine and dopamine receptors centrally.
