About Dromac Injection
Dromac Injection contains Drotaverine HCl 40 mg — a selective phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor producing smooth muscle relaxation. Used parenterally for severe biliary colic, renal colic, intestinal colic and dysmenorrhoea.
Drotaverine has minimal anticholinergic side effects, making it preferred over anticholinergic antispasmodics in elderly, glaucoma patients and those with prostatic hyperplasia.

Mechanism of Action
Drotaverine selectively inhibits phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) in smooth muscle cells, raising intracellular cAMP and producing potent smooth muscle relaxation without anticholinergic effects.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 40–80 mg IV/IM as needed. Maximum 240 mg/day. Hospital use.

Generally well tolerated. Dizziness, hypotension if injected rapidly. Rare hypersensitivity.

Hypersensitivity. Severe hepatic/renal/cardiac failure. AV block.
