About Dexafer-4 Tablet
Dexafer-4 Tablet contains Dexamethasone 4 mg — a long-acting potent synthetic glucocorticoid with approximately 25–30 times the anti-inflammatory potency of cortisol. Used for severe inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, cerebral oedema, acute spinal cord injury, severe asthma and as adjunct in chemotherapy.
Dexamethasone gained additional prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic as a life-saving therapy in hospitalised patients with severe disease. Long duration of action (biological half-life 36–72 hours) allows once-daily dosing.
