About Ceromac Injection
Ceromac Injection contains Cerebroprotein Hydrolysate 60 mg — a complex of low-molecular-weight neurotrophic peptides and amino acids derived from porcine brain tissue. It is used in ischaemic stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease as an adjunct to standard care.
Cerebroprotein hydrolysate (similar in concept to Cerebrolysin) is widely used in Russia, Asia and parts of Europe for its proposed neuroprotective and neurorestorative effects. Mechanisms include modulation of neurotrophic factor signalling (BDNF, NGF), reduction of free radical damage, and support of neuronal plasticity.
Ceromac is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP injectable conditions. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing — a specialty neurology SKU.
Indications
- Acute ischaemic stroke recovery
- Traumatic brain injury rehabilitation
- Vascular dementia
- Alzheimer's disease (adjunct)
- Post-neurosurgical recovery
- Cerebral palsy in children (adjunct)
Mechanism of Action
Cerebroprotein hydrolysate contains low-molecular-weight peptides that cross the blood-brain barrier and mimic endogenous neurotrophic factors (NGF, BDNF, CNTF). They support neuronal survival, axon outgrowth, synaptic plasticity and resistance to glutamate-mediated excitotoxicity. Antioxidant action reduces secondary neuronal damage in ischaemic/traumatic injury.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 5–30 ml diluted in normal saline, given by slow IV infusion daily for 10–20 days. Strictly hospital use under neurologist supervision.
Side Effects
Generally well tolerated. Possible transient agitation, dizziness, low-grade fever. Rare: hypersensitivity (especially to porcine-derived peptides), injection-site reactions.
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity to porcine products. Severe renal impairment. Status epilepticus.
Storage
Store below 25 °C in a dry place, protected from light. Do not freeze.
