Mechanism of Action
Atorvastatin is a high-potency HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor — reduces hepatic cholesterol synthesis, upregulates LDL receptors, lowers LDL by 30–55%. Clopidogrel is thienopyridine antiplatelet — irreversibly blocks platelet P2Y12 ADP receptor. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits platelet COX-1 reducing thromboxane synthesis.
